While nine ABC shows have been renewed, the fates of two more are still up in the air. The network is now making its renewal and cancellation decisions for the next 2023-24 TV season. Several reality shows, like American Idol and Shark Tank, and several comedic series, including Not Dead Yet and The Conners, have been renewed. The Rookie: Feds and Home Economics may or may not be canceled at this time. ABC has not yet decided whether or not to cancel or renew these two series. Big Sky, The Company You Keep, and Alaska Daily were recently canceled, and I believe that this was because they were not doing as well as other series on the network. Fans of The Rookie: Feds are hopeful about a second season despite the absence of formal announcements, thanks to the show’s potential and the fact that a sixth season of The Rookie has already been confirmed. Similarly, Home Economics has been consistently watched during its second and third seasons, increasing the likelihood of renewal. While fans await word on these two programs, it’s crucial to keep in mind that choices on TV series are rarely black and white and frequently involve more than simply numbers. Fans of The Rookie: Feds and Home Economics will have strong opinions no matter the outcome.
