Batman Azteca Choque de Imperios Unveils The First Official Image

DC fans get ready as the first official image for Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios has been unveiled, giving fans a glimpse into a fascinating new take on the Dark Knight’s story.

The upcoming Batman Azteca is an animated movie produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran and is set to be part of DC Universe plans. Although it is not part of the main DC Universe canon, it offers a unique perspective on the iconic Batman character.

On X, the artist @Kuzeh shared the first official image from the animated movie. The image that has been revealed features a version of Batman that is quite striking and has glowing yellow eyes. This suggests that the Caped Crusader is about to embark on a unique journey in an alternate universe.

Juan Meza-León will be directing Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios which will revolve around Yohualli Coatl who becomes Batman after his father is killed by the Spanish Conquistadors. Escaping to Tenochtitlan, Yohualli undergoes training in the temple of the bat god Tzinacan, equivalent to the Batcave, in preparation for his quest for revenge.

Voicing the Aztec Batman will be Horacio Garcia Rojas, known for his role in Narcos: Mexico. Joining him are Omar Chaparro as a unique version of the Joker and Álvaro Morte as Two-Face, reimagined as Hernán Cortés, the leader of the Conquistadors.

The debut date of Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios has not been revealed yet. However, the upcoming addition to the DC animated universe is expected to be an exciting one as it boasts a talented cast and promises to offer a fresh perspective on a familiar Dark Knight character.
