Black Adam’s star, Dwayne Johnson, is taking some heat for the film’s disappointing box office showing. One Hollywood official blamed Johnson’s arrogance for the film’s poor reception, saying that the director always puts himself first and treats himself as the most important person in the world.

However, Johnson has had problems with his co-stars in other series, such as Fast & Furious, which led to his departure. With Johnson in the title role, Black Adam boasted an impressive ensemble cast and a cameo appearance by Superman himself, Henry Cavill. Despite a $260 million budget (not including marketing), the picture only earned $393 million internationally.

Warner Bros. execs were worried about Johnson’s rising influence within DC, and sources say he utilized Black Adam to arrange a takeover. In spite of Johnson’s promotion of his upcoming holiday picture, Red One, the fate of Black Adam is still up in the air, and the film has a low 39% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
