Disney’s Snow White Remake Reportedly Gets Delayed

The upcoming live-action Snow White remake might get released a bit later than the expected date.

The Snow White movie remake, directed by Marc Webb and featuring Rachel Zegler as the Disney princess, was initially set to hit theaters on March 22, 2024. However, a recent update from a Puck newsletter, as reported by Matt Belloni, claims that the movie’s release date will be postponed.

The delay in releasing the movie is primarily due to the ongoing strikes of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA. These strikes have also affected the release dates of various other films, leading to their postponement.

When Will Disney’s Snow White Remake Release?

It has been speculated in the report that Disney may make substantial changes to its 2024 release calendar. With the filming of “Deadpool 3” already experiencing delays, it’s doubtful that the movie will meet its original 3rd May 2024 release date.

There are rumors of planned reshoots for “Snow White” and this points to the possibility that the remake might replace the “Deadpool 3” spot. Disney has not yet announced official release dates for ” Snow White” and “Deadpool 3.”

There had been recent claims from MouseTrap News that suggested, the “Snow White” remake was canceled due to some controversies. People criticized Disney for changing the story and casting a non-white actress as Snow White, as well as altering the size of the dwarfs, except one.

Rachel Zegler, the movie’s star, also faced backlash for calling the original movie outdated due to its focus on a love story involving a character stalking Snow White.

The new movie “Snow White” is written by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, and as of now, no new release dates have been announced.
