Fans of Marvel Comics have been eagerly anticipating a decent adaptation of The Fantastic Four ever since Disney acquired 21st Century Fox. While it’s still a few years away, rumors about casting choices for the upcoming film are already circulating.

According to Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider from The Hot Mic Podcast, the upcoming MCU Fantastic Four film will not feature an all-white cast, with Hamilton actor Daveed Diggs being considered for the role of Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. Diggs, who is half-black and half-Jewish, has appeared in several Disney projects, including Star Wars: Visions and the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.

Other rumors suggest that Adam Driver may be in talks to play Reed Richards, while Mason Gooding has hinted on social media that he may be in the running for the role of Johnny Storm. Margot Robbie has also been rumored to have been offered the role of Sue Storm.

The Fantastic Four has had a rough history when it comes to film adaptations, with several poorly-received attempts in the past. However, with Disney’s acquisition of the property, hopes are high that the beloved superheroes will finally get the treatment they deserve.

Filming for The Fantastic Four is set to begin in 2024, with a release date scheduled for February 14, 2025. While it’s still a few years away, fans can’t help but be excited about the possibility of an all-star cast bringing the classic superheroes to life in the MCU.
