Earwigs, also known as pincher bugs, can be a nuisance in the garden as they feed on plants and can cause damage to leaves, flowers, and fruits. Here are some ways to get rid of earwigs in your garden:

  1. Cultivate healthy soil: Earwigs thrive in moist environments, so maintaining well-draining soil and keeping your garden free of debris can help reduce their numbers.
  2. Use traps: You can use traps to capture earwigs. Roll up a piece of newspaper or cardboard and place it near the affected plants. Earwigs will hide in the rolled-up paper during the day, and you can dispose of them in the morning.
  3. Handpick them: You can also handpick earwigs off your plants and drop them in a bucket of soapy water to kill them. This method is effective but can be time-consuming.
  4. Use Diatomaceous Earth: Diatomaceous Earth is a natural powder that can be spread around the base of plants and in the soil to kill earwigs.
  5. Use Beneficial Insects: Some beneficial insects, like ladybugs and lacewings, will feed on earwigs and help to control their population.
  6. Use Natural Repellents: You can use natural repellents like peppermint oil, garlic, and citrus to repel earwigs. Mix some of these ingredients with water and spray them around your plants.
  7. Apply Neem Oil: Neem oil is a natural insecticide that can be used to get rid of earwigs and other pests. Mix some neem oil with water and spray it on the affected plants.

It’s important to note that, in addition to these methods, maintaining good cultural practices like proper watering, fertilizing and pruning can help to keep your plants healthy, making them less attractive to earwigs and other pests.
