Loki Season 2’s executive producer, Kevin Wright, hints at the series’ role in the Multiverse Saga and a pivotal encounter between Loki and Sylvie.

The highly anticipated premiere of Disney+ Loki season 2 has left fans buzzing with excitement as it unveiled intriguing hints about the He Who Remains and Ravonna Renslayer. Executive producer Kevin Wright recently provided fresh insights into how the series is setting the stage for what’s to come in the Multiverse Saga.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Wright shed light on the concept of “Ouroboros” and Loki’s brief but pivotal encounter with Sylvie in the future.

Wright explained, “So, in the context of that, he’s been slipping in the past and to the present, and in that moment, he has slipped into the future, and so, he is seeing something in Sylvie that has yet to happen for him on his personal timeline, that will loop back around again.”

This revelation suggests that the moment Loki and Sylvie shared is one that will be revisited in an upcoming episode, potentially unveiling who was responsible for pruning Loki—a question that has been on fans’ minds, with many speculating it was Sylvie, despite her being in an elevator when it happened.

When asked about whether Loki season 2 would directly tie into upcoming MCU movies, including “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” Wright stated, “Nothing that I could say in the near future.” However, he hinted that the implications of the series would ripple into other projects, and the Time Variance Authority (TVA) would continue to play a role in storytelling.

The TVA’s involvement in “Deadpool 3” has been teased, indicating that Agent Dox might not be the only one taking matters into their own hands following the demise of He Who Remains at Sylvie’s hands.

As for the future of the Loki series, Wright revealed, “We take it season by season,” and while there are discussions about where the story could go, season 2 was conceived as the conclusion of a two-part tale. He suggested that if more stories were to be told, they would be “new books.”

Wright assured fans that season 2’s finale would not leave them hanging on a cliff but promised excitement and unexpected twists, staying true to the show’s essence.

Marvel Studios has an intriguing five weeks ahead, and “Loki” appears to be the key to unlocking the mysteries of the Multiverse Saga.

While the focus remains on the title character, the backstory of He Who Remains hints at what may lie ahead with the introduction of Kang the Conqueror.
