Good news for Tom Hiddleston fans as the highly anticipated Season 2 of The Night Manager has received a promising nod from the charismatic Loki star. Based on John le Carré’s 1993 espionage novel, the first season of the series garnered widespread acclaim, securing three Golden Globe nominations.
In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz’s Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Tom Hiddleston who who recently received the new title of “God Loki” from Marvel following his Loki Season 2 hinted at the progress of the upcoming season of The Night Manager.
Our beloved Loki star said, “This is kind of in the lap of Simon and Stephen Cornwell at Inkfactory who happen to be John le Carré’s sons. And I think definitely some ingredients have been bought, and they are in the kitchen on the table, the stoves are being turned on.” The actor added, “There are cooks in the kitchen. We will see what can be cooked up in that kitchen. We will see, but there are definitely plans.”
The Night Manager narrates the tale of a hotel night porter embroiled in an international conspiracy after being tasked with spying on a suspicious business proprietor staying at his establishment.
In February 2023, Deadline officially verified the development of the second season, outlining plans for filming later in the year in London, clandestinely referred to as “Steelworks.” Despite this confirmation, the BBC has not issued a public statement regarding the much-anticipated second season.
Although the confirmation of Season 2 is still pending, but producer Simon Cornwell hinted at ongoing efforts to make it a reality. He stated “We all still love to fantasize about ‘Night Manager 2.’ And to this day, people still ask us about it. Personally, I’d love there to be one, but Dad only wrote one book [of that story].”
Season 2 of The Night Manager seems near, with filming expected in 2024, possibly leading to a late 2024 or early 2025 release. The anticipation for season 2 is high, and while the wait may be long that promise of added intrigue and suspense is undoubtedly worth it for eager fans.
