Spider-Man is gearing up for a fresh take in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) through the upcoming Disney+ series, “Spider-Man: Freshman Year.”

This animated series is set to offer a unique perspective on the iconic wall-crawler’s journey as he evolves into Spider-Man in an alternate universe within the vast Marvel Studios Multiverse.

As part of this intriguing alternate reality narrative, new actors have been cast to portray beloved characters from the Spider-Man universe. This includes the likes of Aunt May, Harry Osborn, and even the iconic Peter Parker himself.

Notably, a recent copyright listing from Disney has shed light on who will be lending their voice to one of Spider-Man’s most iconic adversaries, Doctor Octopus.

According to filings with the United States Copyright Office, the esteemed actor Hugh Dancy is set to voice Doctor Octopus in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Freshman Year” series.

This announcement follows closely behind Alfred Molina’s highly-praised return as Doctor Octopus in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” marking his comeback to the character after nearly two decades.

“Freshman Year” marks the UK-born actor’s second venture into voice acting, following his previous work in two episodes of “Robot Chicken,” where he humorously parodied the Marvel character Daredevil.

Audiences have been granted a glimpse of the character’s visual design in “Freshman Year,” and it’s a delightful blend of the original comic book appearance and the rendition from the iconic 1990s “Spider-Man: The Animated Series.”

Now fans are eager to witness how Hugh Dancy’s portrayal of Doctor Octopus will bring a fresh perspective to this iconic character in Spider-Man: Freshman Year.
