Monkey Man: Dev Patel’s Action-Packed Revenge Takes Center Stage in Riveting New Trailer

Prepare for a thrilling journey as Dev Patel, the Oscar-nominated actor, makes an awesome soar from the silver display screen to the director’s chair with his debut movie, Monkey Man. The movie recently unveiled a trailer that offered a glimpse into Patel’s character who is on a high-octane revenge.

The plot unfolds with Patel embodying the character of Kid, a relentless force fueled by a burning desire for vengeance. The rivals he seeks to kill aren’t just responsible for the death of his mother; they also try to exploit the people of India. Kid emerges as an unlikely hero, set to defeat their oppressive reign.

The trailer teases a lot of intense action, similar to  John Wick. Patel’s character is out for revenge and uses guns and knives to take down his enemies in a bloody fight. There’s a scene where he brutally stabs someone in the neck, showing off his strength.

Drawing inspiration from the legendary figure of Hanuman, symbolizing strength and courage, Monkey Man’s Kid, a mysterious figure surviving in an underground fight club. Night after night, clad in a gorilla mask, he endures brutal beatings for cash until an opportunity for vengeance presents itself.

The logline for the movie says: “After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.”

Monkey Man, was slated for a Netflix release, but now the movie will hit theatres on 5th April 2024.
