In a statement shared on Instagram, Leigh Bardugo the author of the book series that inspired the shows confirmed the cancellation of both “Shadow and Bone” season 3 and the “Six of Crows” spin-off.

Expressing deep disappointment and heartbreak Bardugo also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to see her work adapted and thanked the writers, crew, and cast for their contributions.

Leigh Bardugo’s statement on Instagram reads: “Friends by now you’ve probably heard that there will be no season 3 for Shadow and Bone and no Six of Crows spinoff.

The news hit me hard. I’m heartbroken and deeply disappointed but I’m also trying to hold onto my very real gratitude.”

Bardugo acknowledged the rarity of authors seeing their work adapted and expressed gratitude for the positive experience of the adaptation.

She thanked readers and viewers for their support emphasizing that the Grishaverse, her fictional universe is better because of their contributions.
