The suspenseful conclusion of Netflix’s Polish series, Detective Forst, has left viewers on the edge of their seats, eager for answers and contemplating the potential for a second season. The last episode saw Detective Forst grappling with a harrowing cliffhanger, failing to save lives from the threatening Beast of Giewont and facing betrayal from journalist Olga Szrebskaasda.

Borys Szyc, the brilliant actor behind Detective Forst, recently teased the possibility of a Season 2 in an interview with Dziennik. Reflecting on the complexity of broken heroes, Szyc shared, “Forst is a bit of this, a bit of that. We couldn’t include everything in six episodes, because that’s how long the first season is. For me, this is just the entrée to this story.”

As Szyc delved into Detective Forst’s character, he revealed, “We are trying to outline his fate, but we certainly haven’t told everything about him yet.”

"We can watch the hero learn something or keep making the same mistakes. Then we say: what an idiot, he could finally learn something in life. Forst is a bit of this, a bit of that. We couldn’t include everything in six episodes, because that’s how long the first season is. For me, this is just the entrée to this story. We are trying to outline his fate, but we certainly haven’t told everything about him yet."

He highlighted the challenges surrounding Forst, emphasizing his status as a police outlaw. The character’s internal struggles, relentless pursuit of justice, and the looming specter of his own past create a captivating narrative landscape.

"However, we know that he is a police outlaw. It’s difficult to live with him and work with him, and it will probably be even more difficult for him to solve the crime.”

The actor hinted at the underlying tension, stating, “There is certainly a fate hanging over it that can be called a thing of the past. He’s still running away from her, but she’s hot on his heels.” Szyc intriguingly pointed out Forst’s fear of self-confrontation, emphasizing that avoiding one’s past only delays the inevitable reckoning.

“And as is usually the case, if you don’t confront something, it will catch up with you sooner or later. Forst is afraid of confrontation with himself.”

With Detective Forst’s season 2 release date yet to be announced, Szyc’s comments suggest that the first season merely scratches the surface of the character’s intricate journey. As viewers clamor for resolution, the possibility of a Season 2 opens the door to further exploration, unveiling untold facets of Detective Forst’s mysterious persona.
