Fans of the popular series “Smiling Friends” have something to be excited about as the official release year for Season 2 has been unveiled.

This show, created by Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack, is known for its distinctive approach to spreading happiness.

The Story of Smiling Friends

“Smiling Friends” revolves around a company dedicated to making people happy with a focus on two main characters, Pim and Charlie.

The series made its debut as a pilot during Adult Swim’s yearly April Fools’ Day event on April 1, 2020.

It received favorable feedback from both fans and critics leading to Adult Swim ordering a full season in May 2021. Season 1 officially premiered on January 10, 2022.

In February 2022, “Smiling Friends” was officially renewed for the highly anticipated Season 2.

When Can Fans Anticipate Season 2?

During this year’s New York Comic Con Adult Swim brought joy to fans by announcing that “Smiling Friends” Season 2 is scheduled for release in 2024.

The panel also disclosed that the new season will feature a wide range of animation styles including 2D, 3D, stop motion, and live-action content. The return of Mr. Frog also known as Ulysses Walter Frog from “The Mr. Frog Show” was confirmed for Season 2.

In January 2023, co-creator Michael Cusack shared that production for Season 2 is moving forward smoothly, assuring fans that they can look forward to an enjoyable continuation of the series.

Speculating on the Release Date

While the exact release date remains unknown there are some clues to consider. Given that Season 1 premiered in January 2022, Season 2 might follow a similar schedule and be released in January 2024. Another possibility is an April Fools’ Day release as the show’s pilot episode first aired on that day in 2020.

What Makes Smiling Friends Unique

“Smiling Friends” stands out from other Adult Swim shows due to its focus on self-help. Season 1 addressed important topics like suicide while maintaining an entertaining dynamic between its lead characters, Pim and Charlie.

This distinctive approach helps viewers engage with serious subjects in a more approachable manner.
