Poker Face Will Return for a Second Season

Poker Face, the mystery TV show produced by Rian Johnson and starring Natasha Lyonne, has been renewed for a second season by NBC Universal. Despite originally not being planned as a limited series, Johnson believes there are infinite stories to tell within the show, with each episode having a unique quality that offers endless possibilities.

Johnson hopes to continue producing more seasons with Lyonne, stating that his biggest goal is to keep doing it. The inspiration for Poker Face is “Murder, She Wrote”, which starred Angela Lansbury as a mystery writer for twelve seasons. Lyonne hopes to continue working with her co-star Benjamin Bratt in the upcoming season, while Bratt’s dream is to simply be in the show.

The showrunners behind Poker Face, Lilla Zuckerman, and Johnson want to subvert the audience’s expectations by keeping them guessing as to how Charlie, played by Lyonne, will solve each crime. While there is no release date for the second season, NBC Universal is thrilled to continue working with the show’s creators and build momentum across Peacock’s original slate.
