Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars have removed writers Jeff Loveness & Michael Waldron according to recent reports.

Earlier reports had indicated that writers Jeff Loveness and Michael Waldron were on board to pen the scripts for the upcoming sequels, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

However, recent news has surfaced, suggesting that they have been removed from both projects. These claims, however, remain unconfirmed by both Disney and Marvel Studios.

Marvel Studio’s decision to potentially replace Loveness and Waldron for this two-part finale might be due to the lack of depth and accuracy in handling the Multiverse plot scrips. Criticism surrounding Loveness’s work on “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and Waldron’s involvement in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” may have played a role in this choice to save another movie disaster.

“Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” is set to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.’ Meanwhile, the rumor points to Ryan Coogler, to be potentially helming “Avengers: Secret Wars,” the mastermind behind creating  “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

The story plot of “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” will revolve around the titular team, featuring an updated roster of characters. Their mission is to counter the multiversal dominance of Kang, the defeater, along with the resulting attack caused by his bid to control all of time and space.

Marvel has yet to confirm the return of established characters joining the fight against Kang. Currently, the only confirmed actor is Jonathan Majors, who portrays the strong antagonist.

As for “Avengers: Secret Wars,” positioned as the sixth phase, it appears to be a crucial pivot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) within Earth-1999. The film is believed to serve as a farewell to both the Fox-Verse and the existing MCU, taking in a new and distinct era for the Marvel universe.

Both movies are set to grace the screens on 1st May 2026, and 7th May 2027.
