Star Wars: Cameron Monaghan Hopes for  Live-Action Debut for Cal Kestis

Star Wars fans have long awaited for Cameron Monaghan‘s live-action debut as Cal Kestis. The star portrayed Jedi Master in hit video games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor, but Monaghan’s absence from on-screen appearances in the Star Wars universe makes fans wonder if he will ever bring  Cal Kestis into live-action. However, there are some hopes as Monaghan shares his desires for Cal’s potential leap to live-action.

During a panel at FanExpo Vancouver 2024, Cameron Monaghan expressed his desire for a meaningful live-action debut for the character. Monaghan emphasized the importance of the character’s significance and storyline continuation if brought to life on screen.

"It would have to be right. By that I mean, it has to continue the story or the character in some way. I don't want him to just kind of show up to stand around and be there. I want him to mean something and for there to be a significance for the character itself. So, it would have to make sense. But in the right context then, yeah, absolutely."

Previously in a 2022 interview, Monaghan has shown interest in a live-action debut for Cal Kestis, but the possibility seems to diminish as time passes. Despite opportunities like the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which shared the same period as the Star Wars Jedi games, no cameo for Cal Kestis materialized.

Despite the current situation, there’s still hope for Cal Kestis to appear in live-action Star Wars projects, especially with future developments and the upcoming third Star Wars Jedi game.
