Star Wars fans are in for a treat as the villainess Asajj Ventress is set to make a thrilling return in Season 3 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

Ventress made her debut in the 2015 Star Wars novel Dark Disciple as a bounty hunter collaborating with Jedi Quinlan Vos on a mission to assassinate Count Dooku. Throughout the compelling story, Ventress experiences a significant transformation, developing romantic feelings for Vos, discovering Light Side attributes within herself, and ultimately achieving redemption through self-sacrifice.

With her death in Ventress in 2015’s novel, this villain is now making a comeback on screen. In a recent trailer for The Bad Batch Season 3, she showcases a new look with a fresh outfit, and flowing hair, and wields novel lightsabers with yellow blades.

Brad Rau, the producer of The Bad Batch, shed light on the decision to bring back Ventress, acknowledging the character’s popularity. He stated, “We love Asajj Ventress. She’s a character that we’ve been wanting to tell more stories about.” This move left many fans curious, especially given Ventress’s significant storyline in Dark Disciple.

Rau clarified that the events of Dark Disciple remain canon, ensuring that any new narratives featuring Ventress align with the established storyline. Without giving away spoilers, Rau assured fans that, “to know that any new storytelling with Ventress will align with the events of Star Wars: Dark Disciple.”

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 is scheduled to debut on 21st February 2024, with the initial release of the first three episodes exclusively on Disney+.
