The John Wick film and television series franchise has been growing as of late. The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) and Akira (Rina Sawayama) from John Wick: Chapter 4 are two characters that producer Erica Lee would like to see get their own spinoff storylines.
Since his debut in 2017’s John Wick: Chapter 2, the character played by Fishburne has played a significant role in the John Wick films. A spinoff might reveal the many mysteries surrounding him and his secret organization. Akira, played by singer and model Rina Sawayama, is new to the series, but she has already caught Lee’s eye.
The planned film Ballerina, directed by Len Wiseman and starring Ana de Armas, and the impending miniseries The Continental, starring Colin Woodell as The Continental hotel owner Winston Scott, are just two of the many spinoffs now in the works.
With the popularity of John Wick: Chapter 4, it’s evident that the John Wick universe is extending beyond the core movie series, and that means more spinoffs and series are on the way. John Wick: Chapter 4, directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgrd, and Ian McShane, is already playing in cinemas, and viewers are eager to see where the series goes from here.
